Avionics Engineer

We are looking for a motivated Avionics Engineer to contribute to the development and certification of aircraft modifications. This role offers opportunities to expand technical expertise, gain new skills, and grow within a dynamic aerospace environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and refine Technical Requirement Documents and Engineering Technical Assessments
  • Evaluate vendor technical proposals and internal Program Change Requests, with support and guidance as needed
  • Prepare and contribute to Design Change Proposals, with opportunities to enhance problem-solving and design skills
  • Review and provide input on vendor requirement specifications, engineering drawings, and modification summary packages
  • Participate in aircraft test programs, including writing Test Definition Sheets, integrating equipment, witnessing tests, and developing reports
  • Gain hands-on experience in airworthiness certification and compliance reporting
  • Collaborate with the avionics supply chain, participating in technical meetings and learning about supplier relationships
  • Support aircraft production by assisting with troubleshooting and problem-solving
  • Work on in-service aircraft modifications and fleet investigations, gaining experience in real-world applications
  • Have the opportunity to mentor and be mentored, fostering both technical and leadership growth

What We're Looking For:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • Interest in or experience with Aircraft Certification Delegate AP/DAR (training and mentorship available for candidates looking to develop in this area)

Preferred Experience (or Willingness to Learn):

  • Experience or an interest in aircraft electrical and avionics design, installation, integration, testing, and certification
  • Familiarity with or a desire to learn about airworthiness certification under TCCA, FAA, or EASA
  • Exposure to or curiosity about system design, testing, and certification of avionics systems (autopilot, communication, navigation, FMS, onboard maintenance)
  • Knowledge of or willingness to develop skills in ARP4754, ARP4761, and Electrical Wiring Interconnect Systems (EWIS)
  • Understanding of FAR Part 23 & 25 avionics regulations and industry standards (training provided)
  • Interest in working with regulatory agencies (TCCA, EASA, FAA)
