About the Opportunity
A well-established heavy civil/wet utility contractor, delivering pipeline, sewer, water distribution, pump station, and treatment plant projects, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee construction activities in the water and wastewater sector for clients across municipal, industrial, and utility markets. This role is ideal for a hands-on, organized construction professional who thrives in infrastructure delivery and enjoys leading teams through complex project execution.
What You'll Be Doing
Project Leadership & Delivery
- Lead multiple water, wastewater, and sewerage construction projects from planning through closeout
- Coordinate project scopes, schedules, resource planning, and sequencing to meet contractual goals
- Work collaboratively with field teams, subcontractors, engineers, and owners on delivery execution
- Ensure project work is performed safely, to quality standards, and in compliance with specifications
Financial & Commercial Accountability
- Develop and manage project budgets, cost tracking, and profitability forecasts
- Monitor labor, equipment, and materials costs to maintain financial performance
- Oversee subcontracts, vendor coordination, and change order management
- Prepare and deliver project progress reports to leadership and stakeholders
Client Relations & Communication
- Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, utilities, and project partners
- Communicate status, challenges, and solutions clearly and proactively
- Build strong client relationships to support future work and repeat business
Team Leadership
- Mentor project engineers, superintendents, and field personnel
- Foster a culture of teamwork, continuous improvement, and accountability
- Maintain high standards of safety and operational excellence
Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years' experience managing heavy civil or utility infrastructure construction projects
- Demonstrated experience with water distribution, sewer, wastewater, and related pipeline construction
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Proficiency with construction/project management software and scheduling tools
- Ability to work effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders
