You will play a critical role in advancing airworthiness and safety systems, whilst leading the Design Approval Organisation and influence the engineering team across all aspects of regulatory and safety expected within a DAO.
You will be responsible for:
- Leading day-to-day operations of the DAO
- Managing Transport Canada certification for modified Type Designs, including Supplemental Type Certificates.
- Managing Continuing Airworthiness processes and support regulatory activities related to aircraft delivery, operation, and training.
- Interface with Transport Canada for design approval, continuing airworthiness, and safety management systems.
- Driving strategic projects across the Design Approval Organisation and Safety Management function.
You will need to have experience of
- Managing multi-disciplinary teams for certification programs.
- Providing technical leadership focused on coaching and developing team members.
- Strong experience in regulatory frameworks (Transport Canada, FAA, EASA).
- Overall aircraft engineering skills to act as an advisor and to make decisions.
- A specialism within one area of structures, avionics, electrical, maintenance or interiors to be able to stand in as TCCA liaison as required.
- Safety management systems knowledge to ensure aircraft-level safety, reliability, and security processes.
- Management systems and technical processes.
- Leading strategic projects to delivery improvements across the organisation.
- Risk management.
