About the Role:
We're seeking a hands-on Electrical Engineer with strong lab and debugging skills to join our fast-moving, interdisciplinary team. This role focuses on circuit-level design and troubleshooting, firmware development, and system-level integration for advanced sensing and IoT-enabled platforms. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in high-frequency domains (MHz+), thrives in a lab environment, and brings a strong problem-solving mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
Debug and troubleshoot custom circuit boards, including identifying issues related to layout, grounding, and signal integrity.
Solve complex noise, EMI, and grounding problems in analog and mixed-signal systems.
Write, test, and debug firmware for microcontrollers (e.g., ARM Cortex-M, MSP430, AVR).
Perform hands-on lab work using oscilloscopes, soldering tools, VNAs, spectrum analyzers, and other instrumentation.
Support and contribute to RF and high-frequency circuit design and validation.
Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure designs are manufacturable and scalable.
Assist in IoT system development and integration for remote sensing applications.
Travel internationally as needed (typically 1-3 times per year).
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or related field.
Proven experience debugging complex circuit boards.
Solid understanding of grounding, shielding, and noise mitigation in electronic systems.
Experience in firmware development for embedded systems (C/C++).
Comfortable working at frequencies in the MHz range and above.
Strong hands-on lab skills - must be adept with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, soldering, VNAs, etc.
Self-starter with excellent problem-solving and time-management skills.
Nice to Have:
Experience with IoT platforms, remote sensing, or wireless communication protocols (LoRa, Zigbee, BLE).
Background in RF design, antenna theory, or advanced sensors.
Exposure to Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and production-ready hardware.
Familiarity with EPR, NMR, or instrumentation used in chemical/physical analysis.
Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Outgoing, collaborative personality with the ability to juggle multiple projects.
International travel experience or comfort working with global teams.
