Position Overview

The Production Manager - Fiberglass Manufacturing oversees all aspects of fiberglass production operations within a Belton, Texas facility. This role is responsible for production scheduling, maintenance coordination, inventory control, safety compliance, and achieving quality and throughput targets. The position requires deep technical expertise in fiberglass fabrication, a strong commitment to safety, and a proven ability to lead, develop, and motivate high-performing teams.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

  • Manage daily fiberglass manufacturing activities within the designated facility area.
  • Ensure safe, timely, and cost-effective production that meets quality standards and customer expectations.
  • Develop strategies to increase throughput, minimize downtime, and improve efficiency.
  • Coordinate closely with engineering, supply chain, and quality teams to support product customization and execution.

Fiberglass Fabrication & Technical Oversight

  • Oversee the full fiberglass manufacturing process: lay-up, molding, curing, trimming, finishing, and assembly.
  • Ensure proper use and upkeep of materials, molds, tools, and equipment.
  • Resolve production and process-related issues, implementing corrective actions as needed.

Quality & Safety Assurance

  • Maintain strict compliance with OSHA regulations and internal safety protocols.
  • Work with quality teams to prevent and address non-conformances.
  • Ensure all products meet customer specifications and industry requirements.

Team Leadership & Performance Management

  • Lead, train, and mentor supervisors, technicians, and operators.
  • Set performance goals, track KPIs, and provide ongoing feedback.
  • Oversee labor planning, resource allocation, and skills development.

Continuous Improvement & Standardization

  • Drive Lean Manufacturing and 5S initiatives.
  • Implement standardized processes and best practices for consistency and efficiency.
  • Lead improvement events, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive measures.

Planning, Budgeting & Reporting

  • Develop and manage production budgets.
  • Track and report metrics including throughput, scrap, downtime, safety incidents, and labor efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate operational records and data for decision-making.

Qualifications required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 7 years in manufacturing, with at least 3 years in production or plant management.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with fiberglass or composite manufacturing.
  • Proven record in improving throughput, reducing waste, and achieving safety and quality targets.
  • Strong leadership and team development skills.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing methods (5S, Standard Work, Kaizen).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP/production planning systems.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Bilingual (Spanish).
  • Knowledge of ASTM/RTP-1 standards.

Preferred

  • Experience in custom-engineered or project-based manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with environmental systems or related industrial equipment.
  • Technical certifications in composites, lean manufacturing, or production supervision.
