Job Title: Field Services Technician
Location: Washington, DC, USA - flexible hours - contract to hire - must have own transport
About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Field Service Technician to join our dynamic team, servicing customers in the Washington, DC Metro area. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of on and off-street parking meters. You will be the primary service contact for customers, ensuring top-notch support and promoting products and services effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor assigned accounts for meter-generated events, warnings, and alarms.
- Deliver excellent customer service, ensuring customer satisfaction with the maintenance and care of equipment.
- Conduct technical troubleshooting, testing, installations, and software upgrades for parking meters and related systems.
- Address and complete customer service requests independently, escalating issues as needed.
- Serve as a subject matter expert, providing training and support to new customers and technicians.
- Maintain clear and professional updates on support tickets, documenting troubleshooting steps and resolutions.
- Schedule and perform preventive maintenance on meters as outlined in maintenance agreements.
- Replace damaged decals and remove graffiti on meters as needed.
- Track and log parts used in repairs or installations, maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Keep service vehicles clean, organized, and stocked with necessary parts and tools.
- Support fellow technicians both inside and outside of your designated region as needed.
- Follow all relevant laws, company policies, and safety procedures.
- Perform additional duties as required to support business needs.

Physical Demands:
- Moderate physical activity, including regular lifting of up to 75 pounds.
- Must operate a motor vehicle as required.
Education and Experience:
- Associate's Degree or equivalent from a technical school, or 6 months to 1 year of related experience and training, or a combination of both.
- Experience with 12V DC powered systems, wireless data modems, and unattended payment terminals (e.g., vending machines).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Regular travel to customer sites, with occasional travel outside of the main operational area.
- Valid and unrestricted driver's license in good standing.
