Highway/Roadway Project Manager - Travel Role (Vets Encouraged to Apply)

$120,000 Base
Up to $180,000+ with Overtime
(Paid hourly - you're paid for every hour you work)
About the Role:
We're seeking a hands-on Construction Project Manager with a strong background in highway or roadway construction-ideally someone who has worked their way up from a superintendent or foreman role. This position involves extensive travel (up to 80%) to project sites across the United States.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage highway/roadway construction projects from start to finish.
- Coordinate and supervise field crews, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
- Oversee daily project activities, scheduling, and progress to ensure deadlines are met.
- Ensure work is done safely, on time, within scope and budget.
- Maintain strong relationships with DOTs, municipalities, and inspectors.
- Provide regular reporting to senior leadership and clients.
- Travel frequently to job sites nationwide (expect up to 80% travel).
- Mentor and support field teams to ensure consistent quality and performance.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in roadway/highway construction, with proven progression into a leadership role.
- Background as a superintendent, general foreman, or similar field role highly valued.
- Solid understanding of DOT standards, roadway construction methods, and safety practices.
- Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively across the U.S.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Experience with project scheduling tools and reporting a plus.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Base salary: $120,000
- Total comp potential: $180,000+ (with overtime - every hour you work is paid)
- Overtime eligible - this is NOT a flat salary role
