An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Planning Policy professional to support the delivery of a Regulation 19 Local Plan in the Coalville area.
This interim role offers the chance to be part of a key stage in the local plan-making process, contributing directly to shaping future development in the region. If you're a policy planner with strong technical knowledge and a proactive approach, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in finalising the Regulation 19 Local Plan
- Respond to Regulation 18 consultation responses
- Support the preparation and coordination of the evidence base
- Draft plan content and supporting technical documents
- Liaise with stakeholders, consultants, and partner organisations
- Attend internal meetings and occasional evening events when planning matters are on the agenda
- Use GIS, databases, and spreadsheets to analyse and present spatial and planning data
About You
- Demonstrable experience in planning policy and local plan work
- Understanding of the statutory planning process, particularly Regulation 18 and 19
- Excellent written communication and policy drafting skills
- Confident in stakeholder engagement and collaborative working
- Proficient in the use of GIS and data analysis tools
- Able to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
