Are you an experienced Electrical Engineer looking to take the next step in your aerospace career?

We are supporting a leading aerospace systems manufacturer seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to play a key role in the development, certification, and assurance of advanced electrical and electro-optical hardware for airborne applications.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a technical environment, understands regulatory requirements, and is ready to take ownership of complex aerospace design projects.

What You'll Be Doing

In this senior, hands-on engineering role, you will:

  • Lead the design, development, and verification of electrical and electro-optical hardware for aerospace platforms.
  • Oversee design assurance activities in alignment with TCCA and FAA certification requirements.
  • Interpret and apply aerospace electrical regulations, standards, and environmental compliance requirements.
  • Create and approve electrical schematics, PCB layouts, wiring diagrams, BOMs, and engineering documentation.
  • Develop, review, and validate system and hardware requirements.
  • Support test planning and execution, including unit testing, system integration, environmental qualification testing.
  • Drive root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and design improvements.
  • Collaborate closely with systems, software, and mechanical teams to ensure robust and certifiable designs.
  • Support technical reviews, audits, and certification activities with internal and external stakeholders. Such as customer and the TCCA and FAA.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Electro-Optical, or related Engineering discipline.
  • 4-7 years of experience in aerospace electrical or electronic hardware design.
  • Strong understanding of aerospace regulatory frameworks, including TCCA, FAA, and associated certification processes.
  • Experience with industry standards such as DO-160G, MIL-DTL-7788, and relevant avionics/electrical design regulations.
  • Proficiency with Altium Designer or similar PCB/schematic tools.
  • PCB awareness: Understanding of how schematic-level decisions impact PCB routing, manufacturability, and cost
  • EMC/ESD/transient immunity design experience.
  • Experience with design assurance, requirements development, technical documentation, and design reviews.
  • Eligibility to access ITAR / CGP controlled data (Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident).

Bonus Experience

(Not required but highly valuable)

  • Background in LED or incandescent lighting systems for cockpit/control panel applications.
  • Familiarity with avionics systems and standards (ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553, DO-178, DO-254)
  • Familiarity with aerospace production, qualification, and certification workflows.

Why This Role?

  • Work on advanced aerospace hardware used in real-world aviation programs.
  • Step into a more senior position with visibility, influence, and technical ownership.
  • Join a growing engineering team with strong long-term career prospects.
  • Contribute to high-impact aerospace products in a highly regulated and rewarding environment.

If you're an engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems, navigating aerospace regulatory requirements, and owning the full hardware lifecycle-from concept through certification-this is an excellent next step in your career.
