About the Role

A specialized engineering firm is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support manufacturing and product development. This role involves designing and implementing mechanical systems, conducting feasibility studies, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize product performance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement new mechanical systems and subsystems based on specifications.
  • Experience working on DoD, Federal or Government Contracts
  • Develop product requirements, specifications, and schedules.
  • Conduct feasibility studies to assess functionality and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot designs in collaboration with cross-functional team members.
  • Work with project management to resolve design issues and optimize schedules.
  • Evaluate and recommend design changes as needed.
  • Conduct, coordinate, and supervise product design, verification, and validation.
  • Maintain detailed documentation throughout all design phases.
  • Lead and participate in technical design reviews.
  • Develop 3D models and detailed drawings using SolidWorks.
  • Perform structural analysis using SolidWorks Simulation when necessary.
  • Prepare specifications, data sheets, and technical drawings.
  • Review vendor proposals and technical documents.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • 10+ years of experience in mechanical design.
  • 3+ years of experience with SolidWorks or expertise in other 3D CAD modeling systems.
  • Experience with SolidWorks Simulation is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of structural design principles.
  • Knowledge of machinery product design, verification, and validation.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team and collaborate across departments.
