About the Role
A specialized engineering firm is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support manufacturing and product development. This role involves designing and implementing mechanical systems, conducting feasibility studies, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize product performance and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement new mechanical systems and subsystems based on specifications.
- Experience working on DoD, Federal or Government Contracts
- Develop product requirements, specifications, and schedules.
- Conduct feasibility studies to assess functionality and reliability.
- Troubleshoot designs in collaboration with cross-functional team members.
- Work with project management to resolve design issues and optimize schedules.
- Evaluate and recommend design changes as needed.
- Conduct, coordinate, and supervise product design, verification, and validation.
- Maintain detailed documentation throughout all design phases.
- Lead and participate in technical design reviews.
- Develop 3D models and detailed drawings using SolidWorks.
- Perform structural analysis using SolidWorks Simulation when necessary.
- Prepare specifications, data sheets, and technical drawings.
- Review vendor proposals and technical documents.

Qualifications
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
- 10+ years of experience in mechanical design.
- 3+ years of experience with SolidWorks or expertise in other 3D CAD modeling systems.
- Experience with SolidWorks Simulation is a plus.
- Strong understanding of structural design principles.
- Knowledge of machinery product design, verification, and validation.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team and collaborate across departments.
