Clearance Required: Top Secret/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph (Active)


About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and security-cleared Software Engineer or DevOps Engineer to join our mission-critical team at Fort Meade. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain software and infrastructure systems supporting national security objectives. Your expertise will contribute to innovative solutions for complex technical challenges in a highly secure environment.


Responsibilities:

Software Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy secure software applications in a classified environment.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality code on time.

  • Maintain and refactor existing codebases to improve performance and security.

  • Conduct code reviews and ensure best practices are followed.

  • Troubleshoot and debug software issues in real-time operational systems.

DevOps Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes.

  • Manage and monitor cloud or on-prem infrastructure, ensuring system reliability and scalability.

  • Implement infrastructure-as-code (IaC) solutions using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.

  • Enhance system observability using logging, metrics, and alerting tools (e.g., ELK, Prometheus, Grafana).

  • Ensure secure configurations and compliance with agency security guidelines.


Required Qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph (no exceptions).

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).

  • 3+ years of experience in software engineering or DevOps in secure or mission-critical environments.

  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C++, Go).

  • Experience with modern DevOps tools and practices (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, GitLab CI/CD).

  • Strong understanding of Linux/Unix systems administration.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with NSA, DoD, or IC-mission environments.

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and secure coding practices.

  • Experience working with distributed systems, microservices, or real-time data processing.

  • Certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, RHCE, Security+, or similar.
